6-7 peeled, cored and sliced apples
1/4 cup lemon or orange juice
1 3/4 cups sugar
1 3/4 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon salt
10 tablespoons butter
Preheat oven to 375.
Butter a 9x13" baking dish. Spread apples evenly in the dish and drizzle
with juice. In another bowl (I use my Kitchen Aid) combine sugar,
flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Add soft butter until fine crumbs
form. Sprinkle this over the top of the apples. Bake for 45 minutes or
until the top is golden brown.
Serve warm with ice cream.
